History

In relieving financial stress of the deprived families, T.W.G.Hs had established ‘Food for all’ food assistance service for providing short term food assistance to the deprived people in 2009. Afterwards it is further observed that most of their income has been spent in fixed daily living expenditures, such as rent, utilities, transportation and school fees. As a result, the deprived families would limit the meal cost and affect their basic needs of food security. Also, due to lack of kitchen facilities at the subdivided flat families, cooking is not allowed and they can just rely on dry food. Food for all Kitchen was then established for providing discounted nutritious hot meals for them in order to relieve their financial stress.

Objective

  • To relief the financial stress of the deprived families
  • To provide job and training opportunities for the deprived families
  • To foster the caring culture among the rich and poor and to provide a platform for other citizens to support poverty-alleviation service through purchasing meals at Food for all Kitchen, i.e. when other citizen purchases a meal set at normal price, it will subsidize a discounted nutritious hot meals for the deprived families. The income generated by Food for all Kitchen will be used for social service purpose and to subsidize the hot meal service after covering the operation costs.
