History

For early identification of and to assist pre-primary children and their families with welfare needs, the Government has implemented the “Pilot Scheme on Social Work Service for Pre-primary Institutions” (the Pilot Scheme) since February 2019. A total of three Stationing Social Work Service Teams were set up by TWGHs to provide the services to 48 participating pre-primary institutions. Due to the positive results of the Pilot Scheme, the Government regularized the service in August 2022 and optimized it into District-based Social Work Teams (SWT). TWGHs was awarded the Districted-based SWT of Tuen Mun South (Catchment Area: TM 2) for three years from August 2023 to provide stationing social work services to pre-primary institutions in the catchment area.
