History
TWGHs Siu Lam OLIVE-Courtyard Day Activity Centre cum Hostel for Severely Mentally Handicapped Persons has commenced service since March 28, 2024
Objectives
To provide day training and residential service to persons with intellectual disability, aiming at strengthening their independent living skills and enhancing their quality of life, developing their fullest potential, and to achieve the concept of integration and sharing the care-giving responsibility with their families.
Facilities
The unit consists of the ground floor (G/F) and the first floor (1/F), with a total area of 11,184.8 sq. m.
Facilities include 68 bedrooms, each consists 5– 6 beds with toilet and bathroom; dining/ living room, physiotherapy room, sensory room, quiet room, activity room and sick bay/isolation room.
Moreover, there are communal facilities including central kitchen, car pool, and garden.
Service Recipients
- Aged 15 or above with low moderate to severe grade of intellectual disability who are able to follow simple instruction
- Free from acute medical condition or contagious disease
- No serious aggressive behavior
