History

Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Ma Hing Chou Home for the Elderly was established in November 1976. In recognition of a generous donation of $300,000 from Mr. Michael Ma, Mr. Maximilian Ma and Mr. Lawrence Ma towards the Community Services Development Fund of Tung Wah, the Board of Directors decided to name this Home after Messrs. Ma's father as "Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Ma Hing Chou Hostel for the Elderly".

To meet the needs of the society, the Social Welfare Department approved the Home to convert all the self-care places to meal places. Being renamed "Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Ma Hing Chou Home for the Elderly" on 1 March 2000, the Home aims at providing quality residential service for the elderly to enable them to lead a dignified and fuller life in a homely and comfortable environment.

Objective
